My Artistic Journey

Art has always been a part of who I am. I started out painting surreal acrylic pieces, and over time that’s grown into a style that blends traditional and modern Southwestern influences.

A lot of what I create comes from my childhood. My family is from Dolores, Colorado, and I grew up spending time on my grandparents’ cattle farm. I’d play in the garden, watch the sunsets over Ute Mountain, and see the horses running through the fields while the irrigation sprinklers clicked on at dusk. Birds flying overhead, my grandpa always smoking something on the BBQ. It was simple, peaceful, and grounding in a way that’s hard to put into words.

While my art is rooted in those country, Southwestern themes, I’ve really leaned into capturing the strength and wisdom of the cowgirl. I love painting strong, fierce women in their element. There’s something powerful about that mix of grit, independence, and quiet confidence that continues to inspire me.

That feeling is what I chase when I paint. It brings me back to a kind of peace I remember from those easier years of life.

What started as something I didn’t think much about has become one of the most important outlets in my life. Painting now is where I go to reset. It calms me, motivates me, and honestly just makes me happy.
